The
main purpose of the present investigation was to evaluate the inter-caste
attitudes of the college going boys and girls of Jodhpur City. Straitified
sample of 100 subjects belonging to four major caste groups was drawn
from the student population. The inter-caste attitudes questionnaire
originally used by Murphy (1950) was administered to the subjects.
The results showed significant difference between the two extreme
caste groups i,e, Brahmin and Sudras. There was no significant difference
in between the other castes, although the mean scores of the various
caste groups have shown the caste hierachical order. The findings
were interpreted to mean the changes in the inter-caste attitudes
as a result of industrialization and education.
