Abstract
Cross-cultural invariance of the California Psychological Inventory
T. Nishiyama
The present study purports to examine the cross-cultural relevance of the "folk concept" approach used in CPI scale construction. Applying a 60(3 college student sample, item analyses were made (not to be reported here), scale scores compared, scale relationships clarified, and factorial structures identified. With certain reservations, the results obtained seem to support the universal availability and empirical validity of such a "folk concept" approach.
