Abstract
Personality correlates of ESP
R.L. Terry & J.K. Kramer
ESP scores (the number of correct identifications of 5 Zener-type color cards out of 200 Attempts) of 92 Ss were compared with personality factor scores. Factors of enthusiasm and self-control were negatively correlated with ESP score, and the factor of submissiveness was curvilinearly related: positive and negative ESP Ss were more submissive than low ESP Ss. however, Ss, whose ESP scores exceeded a chance probability of .01, compared to all other Ss serving as a normative group, scored significantly higher in confidence and stability, suggesting that ESP ability is perhaps discontinuous with respect to personality profiles.
