Sex differences in auditory figural after-effects were examined with and without associating the differences in after-effects to the various phases of the female's menstrual cycle. The magnitude of the after-effect varied significantly in relation to the phase of the menstrual cycle in the female group. No significant sex differences were found when the phases of the menstrual cycle were not taken into account.
