Abstract
Effects of Model's Sex on Imitative Behavior in Kindergarten Children
K. Minami
The effects of model's sex on imitative behavior were investigated. Kindergarten children were exposed to a same- or opposite-sex model who displayed neutral, sex-inappropriate, or sex-appropriate behavior. It was indicated that a same-sex model who demonstrated sex-inappropriate behavior was imitated more than an opposite-sex model. In addition, boys exposed to a same-sex model displayed sex-inappropriate behavior more than girls exposed to a same-sex model.
