Abstract
Short-Term Recall as a Function of Presentation of Material of Varying Load to Identical and Different Modality
V.K. Kool & K. Tripathi
An attempt was made to find out the superiority of the visual mode of presentation over the auditory mode in short-term recall obtained under conditions of various information load and at different recall intervals. The results obtained on 60 Subjects in a three way (2 x 3 x 8) analysis of variance test indicated that the visual mode was superior to the auditory mode. It was also concluded that overloading of information caused equally harmful effects to both modes, particularly at delayed recall intervals.
