Specificity,
Integration and Differentiation of Human Cardiovascular Responses
by Voluntary Control
H. Yasumaru |
Two
experiments were performed to examine specificity, integration and
differentiation in heart rate (HR) and plethysmographic blood volume
pulse amplitude (Pleth. amplitude). In Experiment I it was possible
to control two closely related autonomic responses separately under
Feedback condition. This specificity was not observed under Non-Feedback
condition. Simultaneous feedback of both HR and Pleth. produced greater
effects than feedback of the individual responses. Furthermore a
Teaming process of voluntary control was examined. In Experiment
II the subjects could learn differentiation. Integration was learned
more easily than was differentiation. The interaction among responses
was discussed.
