Deprivation and Development of Serial memory

The
purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of experiential
deprivation upon serial memory for numbers, words and pictures at
four age levels i.e., 4-5, 5-6, 6-7 and 7-8 years. The results indicated
significant main effects of age and deprivation. The low deprived
children performed significantly better than high deprived children.
However, the difference in the age group of 6-7 years age was non-significant.
Further, the serial memory was best for numbers, followed by words
and pictures, respectively.
