P. Shanker, L. Clark & H. Asthana
In order to compare the value profiles and value contradictions in Canadian, East Indian and West Indian Ss a 3 X 2 X 6 (Nationality X Sex X Value) mixed design was used. Allport, Vernon and Lindzey's Study of Values test was applied to 297 male and female college students from Canada, India, and the West Indies. There was a significant difference between the value profiles of males and females and also between the three nationality groups. The Indian students showed the largest number of contradictory values which was interpreted as a possible indication of greater tolerance of conflicting points of view.
