Younger
Children's Understanding of the Counting Principles
T. Chihara |
The
understanding of the five counting principles on 64 children from
3- to 6-year-old, were investigated. The two principles (one-to-one,
anal stable-order) begin to be understood relatively earlier and
it takes a relatively long time to be perfectly understood. The cardinal
principle begins to be understood later and its perfect understanding
is accomplished in a relatively short period. The result suggests
that some of the principles may be implicitly understood at a certain
period.
