factor analyses were applied to the learning in the experiment carried
out by Matsuda and Matsuda (1984). It was found that the response
patterns of preference and repetition with respect to position disturbed
most strongly progress in this finger maze learning. The verbalization
had some positive effects to inhibit them only in the normal children
and had no or rather negative effects in the mentally retarded children.
