Abstract
Relationships of Proenvironmental Attitudes to Wildernism-Urbanism and Pro-Preservation Attitudes Toward Historical Heritages
O. Iwata
Two hypotheses were tested. Hypothesis 1 addresses that those who have stronger proenvironmental attitudes have stronger wildernism. Hypothesis 2 is read as follows: those who have stronger proenvironmental attitudes have stronger pro-preservation attitudes toward cultural heritages. Including 41 males, 138 undergraduates of a national university took part in this study. Proenvironmental attitudes, wildernism and pro-preservation attitudes toward cultural heritages were measured by multipe-item five-point scales. Factor analysis was performed for each scale. Scores for each scale and the sum of them were calculated. Pearson's correlation coefficients were computed to test the hypotheses. Correlation coefficients relating to the sum of each scale were positive and significant. Accordingly, these hypotheses were supported.
