The Effect of Tactile Stimulation on Newborn Infants in a Stress Situation

In this study the calming effect of tactile stimulation (holding) on newborn infants in a stress situation was examined. The importance of tactile stimulation could not be proved exactly. However the results of this study might be explained by "attention hypothesis" explained in a previous study (Kawakami et al., 1996).
