Abstract
Merita therapy and Seiza
K. Yokoyama
Morita therapy is a psychotherapy for nervosity along the line of Zen, but up to the present it has not adopted the Zen meditation (Zazen). The author used Seiza at the same time with Morita therapy, in order to strengthen the effect of the therapy and gained favourable results to some extent. The results of Morita therapy and Seiza for the past three years were reported and some problems on the theoretical ground were discussed. 1Vlorita therapy aims at achieving "arugamama" as against the hypochondriac nature of nervosity, while Seiza is considered to give directly good influences on the bodily and mental hypersensitivity by virtue of self-adjustment and it contributes much to the treatment for nervosity.
