Abstract
Electro-oculograph researches in Japan
A. Ohtani
Recent Japanese studies applying electro-oculography (EOG) to various psychological fields were reviewed. Tune characteristics of saccadic movements were analyzed by EOG, because it is suitable for measuring frequency of eye movements. Saccadic movements might be classified into involuntary, voluntary and fixative movements having different distributions of time interval. For the sake of needlessness of any light source far recording, EOG is applied to studies in sleeping hyponotized or eye closing subjects. Arousal level of subject was highly correlated to pattern of eye movements. EOG is also applied widely to practical problems especially in visual tasks. Some comments were stated about future researches of eye movement and EOG.
