Attitudes
in behavior theory
S. Kanekar |
Several
behavioristic analyses of the concept of attitude were critically
discussed and empirical evidence in support of the classical conditioning
approach to attitudes was presented. It was argued that an attitude
represents a habit between an attitudinal stimulus and an attitudinal
response, the latter being an internal emotional response. Extensions
of the classical conditioning approach were offered along with some
speculations regarding the nature of the attitudinal response.
