Postoperative formation of visual perception in the early blind

Formation process of visual perception in the early blind who newly gained sight by operation have been experimentally studied. Retails on a case of such cases examined thus far was reported, She lost sight 12 to 14 months after her birth (due to leukoma of the cornea) and received the operation for opacity of the cornea (corneal transplantation) at the age of 11 years. Not only postoperative 2- and 3-dimensional farm perception based on the newly gained sight, but their tactual form perception as well were examined step by step over a period of tine.
