The
measurement of brain damage in childhood

In
this paper the confusion over the term `brain damage' has been elucidated
and the diagnostic implications of the brain damage syndrome in childhood
have been discussed. Medical (history-taking, neurological and electroencephalogram)
and psychological approaches in assessment are critically reviewed.
It is concluded that improvements can be and have been made. Certain
guidelines are submitted for future research and clinical application.
