Q. Hasan & M.W. Khan
Relationships were explored between semantic ratings of 11 concepts and Authoritarianism, Male Ss (N=80) aged 16-20 rated each of the 11 concepts in terms of six polar adjectives. Three factors were extracted out of the matrix of intercorrelations among the scores on the F scale and ratings on the six polar adjectives. Authoritarianism was found to hang with semantic scales of `Valuable-Worthless' and `Hot-Cold' prior to rotation, and with `Hot-Cold' after rotation. The matrix of intercorrelations among the scores on the F scale and ratings of the concepts yielded four factors. After varimax rotation, the following concepts were found to be hanging with Authoritarianism: Present, Mother, Responsibility, Power, and Freedom.
