K. Patel
The present investigation describes the personality syndromes of (a) people who are high on each of five creativity dimensions and (b) thane displaying different types of creativity profiles. A sample of 823 high school boys and 72 girls formed the sample. The Torrance Test of Thinking Creatively with Pictures and Biographical Inventory Form a were used to measure creativity, while Cattell's 16 PF was used as a measure of personality. The results indicate that the highly fluent males differ from the low fluent groups on four personality factors; the highly flexible on three personality factors; the originators on three factors; and the elaborators on seven factors; while those high on BI (a) differ on nine personality factors. The highly flexible females are self-sufficient while those high on BI (a) are dominant and venturesome. Those with a profile of high on all creativity variables are venturesome, placid, self-confident and emotionally stable, while those low on all creativity variables are shy. Nine types of creativity profiles were noted in the sample and their personality characteristics described. Each creativity pattern displays a unique set of personality characteristics.
