Abstract
ntergenerational Attitudes: A Psychological Analysis
R.C. Mishra & B.B. Tiwari
Using a questionnaire, the attitude of 140 young and 100 old subjects of different educational level and environmental background was studied toward the issues of marriage, family-structure and traditionalism. Results provided support for attitudinal difference along intergenerational line. Level of education and environmental background of the subjects were also found to produce differences in attitudes. Generational differences appeared to be wider in urban samples than rural. The groups, in general, tended to show more attitudinal disparity on the issue of marriage than on family-structure and traditionalism but over all, the situation was not tensional.
