An attempt has been made in the present study at investigating the relationship between approval motive and hostility in an Indian sample. The correlation between the two variables, based on 236 males of age group 17 years to 23 years, was found to be -.301. The high approval motivated Ss are reported to have a low degree of hostility and vice versa. Thus, approval motive appears to be inversely related to hostility.
