Cultural
Invariance in Risky Shift and its Determinants
J. Verma & J.B.P. Sinha |
The
study examined the hypotheses that the prediction of unethical behaviour
varies as a function of perceived risk and that the risky shift in
the group is caused by the competency of the partner and trust among
them. Forty four American and SO Indian undergraduates completed
Behaviour Prediction Scale under individual and dyadic group conditions.
The results indicated that magnitude of punishment was the most crucial
factor particularly in the Indian sample. Probability of gain was
most important for Americans. By and large competency was related
to risky shift in the American and positive affect in the Indian
sample.
