K. Ohbuchi
Here the interactional impact of home and school has been studied on general mental ability in comparison to creative thinking abilities on 120 subjects be-longing to enriched and deprived home environments studying in four categories of schools, viz., extremely advantaged, extremely disadvantaged, slightly advantaged and slightly disadvantaged educational institutions. Cross-comparison of verbal general mental ability scores of various groups of subjects revealed that verbal intelligence scores, as it was found in case of verbal. creativity, are affected greatly by enriched school environment only which dominates not only upon all the categories of institutions but also on the home background while non-verbal creativity scores are equally affected by both home and school environment. It can therefore be affirmed that verbal abilities can develop more in highly enriched but formal environment, while non-verbal ability is equally affected by enriched formal as well as informal environment.
