Ecology and Sex as Determinants of Motivation and Personality

The aim of the present investigation was to study the influence of Ecology and hex on n A.ch, Achievement anxiety, Dogmatism, and Intolerance of ambiguity. 40 ss of each condition ie. Ecology (2) and Sex (2) were administered Prayag Mehta's Achievement value Anxiety Inventory and Q. Hassan's Dogmatism scale form D and Intolerance of ambiguity scale. 2 X 2 factorial design, Duncan's new multiple range test and Pearson product moment correlation were used to analyse the data. The results indicate the significant difference of scores in terms of ecology and sex, for all the variables measured. In general boys have been found to be more achievement oriented and have high need for achievement and are less dogmatic anal intolerant of ambiguity than the girls irrespective of their environment. No consistent or uniform relationship was observed between n Ach and Intolerance of ambiguity.
