This study aimed at identifying the fundamental factors of music memorization through the actual performance (reproduction) of a specially prepared composition, the subsequent analysis of the observed musical behavior, and questionnaire results. The crucial factors 'in musical memorization were found to lie in the abilities of solfege-inner ear training-and music construction based on the knowledge of harmony and composition. The statistical results indicated that the ability to memorize music correlates highly to sight-reading abilities.
