Abstract
Interpretation of the Gurung Dreams
M.P. Regmi
This cross-cultural study of Gurung (N=89) dreams supported Zeigarnik's gestalt principles. The dreams of Gurung women appeared as geared to their waking life-task performance. Their dreams reflected task anxieties but adolescents images were free from it. The comparison between Gurung and Zulu dreams showed that the adult females of both cultures differed in their priorities to the central imagery of dreams. The dreams were analysed in orientation, press, needs, cathexes and outcomes.
