In this study a Japanese Intelligence Test, the Kyoto New NX, is administered to a sample of 13-14 year olds in Northern Ireland. The Kyoto Test provides measures of the verbal, numerical and visuospatial abilities, and of Spearman's g. The study uses a new test and a new methodology to estimate Japanese values for these abilities. The results show that the Japanese are particularly strong on the visuospatial abilities and less strong on the verbal and numerical abilities and on Spearman's g. These results are in general consistent with other studies of the profile of Japanese abilities.
