Effects
of Teaching Obstetrical Nurse Students Skills of Probe and Reflection
of Feeling by Microcounseling
K. Tamase |
The
present study was designed to examine the effect of microcounseling
(MC) training for 16 obstetrical nurse students. One group pretest-posttest
design was used. The skills of probe and reflection of feeling were
taught 2 hours, respectively, by the MC paradigm. The pretest and
posttest interviews, in which each pair of subjects exchanged the
listener and speaker roles, were recorded for 3 minutes by the audio-taperecorder.
Results indicated that open questions were used significantly more
often after the training, while the reflection of feeling did not
change by the training. These results were discussed in terms of
previous researches.
