Abstract
Reliability of Laterality Effects in Dichotic Listening
T. Hatta
Test-re-test reliability of dichotic listening performance on CV and VCV stimuli was investigated by right-handed university students. Peason's product moment correlations between right ear advantage scores on CV and VCV tests were 0.292 and 0.772. Thirty-five percent of subjects changes ear advantage from 1st to 2nd listening for CV test and 17.7 percent for VCV test. In both tests, subjects whose ear advantage scores are on the deviant side are more likely to reverse laterality on re-test than subjects whose score are on the modal direction. Based upon these findings, the validities of CV and VCV tests as indices of cerebral functioning are discussed.
