Abstract
Exemplifying and comparing Fuzzy Ratings and Magnitude Estimations
T. Yamashita & K. Yamashita
Magnitude estimations and fuzzy ratings with regard to length of line, area of square, and volume of cube were exemplified and compared. Magnitude estimations allow us to quantitatively analyze and consider human perception or cognitive processes. However, since people usually express the attribute of stimuli in verbal ways, fuzzy rating methods are more available than magnitude estimations for understanding of human perception or cognitive processes. Advantages, disadvantages, and limitations of these two methods are discussed.
