Abstract
Special State of Consciousness and Motor Performance: Phenomenon and its Neurophysiological Correlates
M. Miyahara
The present paper reviewed the neurophysiological correlates with the experience of the special state of consciousness related to motor performance. The special states were divided into motor performance specific state of consciousness (MPSSC) and psychological skills training specific state of consciousness (PSTSSC). The available literature from the fields of psychology, physiology and neurology was examined with respect to the MPSSC and the PSTSSC. The implications for future studies were suggested in each approach. It was concluded that the comparison of measurements from different approaches was necessary for the theoretical integration and the holistic understandings of MPSSC and PSTSSC.
