The
authors analyze Pan Shu's outstanding contributions to psychology
in China. As a founder of modern Chinese psychology, in his psychological
career more than 60 years, Pan researched mainly on the basic theoretical
problems of psychology. He put forward his own views about the nature
of psychology, the methodology of psychology, the relations between
mind and body, the categories of human psychological activities,
consciousness, the subject matter of psychology, and how to develop
a psychology with distinctive Chinese features. The authors point
