Abstract
Conditioning and discrimination-- a correlational study
T.K. Chakrapani & P.V. Ramamurti
To the extent conditioning procedures are involved in discrimination experiments, it cold be expected that rats which could be conditioned quickly can also learn to discriminate quickly. The present study used 10 rats as subjects. The rats were first trained on a conditioning experiment and later on a discrimination experiment. The results of the study indicate a significant correlation between the trials taken to condition and the trials taken to learn to discriminate. The results are interpreted in terms of conditioning-extinction theory of discrimination.
