研究領域 (Research Area)

　モチベーションは、外国語学習において重要な要素の一つであるとされています。今日では技術の発展に伴いオンラインでの学習が盛んになってきましたが、その一方でオンライン学習では生徒が途中で脱落しやすいなど問題点も多く確認されており、これらの問題を防ぐためにモチベーションは特に重要な役割を担っていると考えられています。現代に至るまで多くの研究者によって外国語学習におけるモチベーションは研究されてきましたが、オンライン環境における外国語学習のモチベーションについて注目され始めたのはつい最近のことです。
　私の研究では、外国語学習におけるモチベーションを大きな研究テーマとし、特にオンライン環境下での外国語学習モチベーションに焦点をあてて研究を行っています。学習者がオンライン環境下でどのようなモチベーションを持って学習に取り組んでいるのか、またそのモチベーションに影響を与える要因を明らかにすることで、現場で働く先生方が生徒のモチベーションを考慮した授業計画やアプローチを考える際に貢献できるのではないかと考えています。

Motivation has been treated as one of the essential aspects in foreign language learning. These days, while technology development has pushed distance education, ｔｈｅｒｅ　ｈａｓ　ｂｅｅｎ　problems in online learning recognised such as high dropout rate and lower engagement. As a prevention for those problem, motivation may be able to play aｎ important role in online EFL learning. However, it is only recently that research has paid attention to EFL motivation in the online context.
My research area is EFL motivation, with a focus in EFL motivation in online learning. Through understanding what kind of EFL motivation students have and the factors behind those motivation, I believe that my research can make a contribution for teachers who work in practical area and help inform their lesson plans and their approach to students.
